Birth Controlis a procedure to end an unwanted pregnancy. In India, it is a legally sanctioned option for both married and unmarried women and can be performed until the first 20 weeks. As a procedure, it is one of the safest, most common, and minimal risk procedures. It bears no risks on future pregnancies and leaves no scars. However, it must be performed only by a trained and licensed OB-GYN and only at a registered clinic (under Birth Control act, 1971).
